Central Board of Secondary Examination setup by Government of India in 1962. The main objectives were those of : serving the educational institutions more effectively, to be responsive to the educational needs of those students whose parents were employed in the Central Government and had frequently transferable jobs.It is basically a national curriculum that is nationally and internationally recognized.
CBSE is one of the most popular curriculum. The standard of education is quite good and the network of CBSE schools is one of the highest. Students of CBSE schools outperform students of other states and national boards academically. The corporate sector eyes on the cream students of these schools. Soon after they passout from the school they easily qualify and perform outstandingly in the entrance and competitive examinations and find their places in the best of colleges.
Both are national curriculum. CBSE is central board of secondary education, setup by Government of India with schools all over India and hence nationally recognized whereas ICSE is governed by Education council, New Delhi and internationally recognized with schools across the globe.
Students are assessed by written assessments and internal assessment (Coursework and Oral)
